About the website: My Pedigrees (now known as Your Pedigrees) is back ...
About the websiteOk, I spent the last few days cranking on the very demanded My Pedigrees tool which a lot of people seemed to miss. I have written the tool, from scratch, and integrated it into the pedigree module. It'll work as if Regular Pedigrees but in "Your Pedigrees" mode. Option to close "Your Pedigrees" list at any time, the page you are in Your Pedigrees is remembered and propagated while in Your Pedigrees mode. And this time a well written tool to surf between all your peds, with a nice "Go to page:" tool that I believe will come in very handy for those of us that have thousands of peds under our control. I have over 40,000 which makes up for 845 pages of 50 dog sections so the ability to go straight into say page 100 from page 1 I think is very cool. Having said that I still like better to just punch whatever dog I want to edit straight into the "Quick Search" form at the top of every page of the website. Good luck and enjoy.
PS> You can find "Your Pedigrees" right next to the "Pedigrees" link at the top of the website.

About the website: What are we?
About the websiteOnline pedigrees is a web based pedigree application. We have a database containing over 250,000 pedigrees entered by users, and growing!. Over 40,000 of those pedigrees have a picture as well. Access to these pedigrees is available through the website.

The website provides a search tool to find dog pedigrees. Each dog name is a link to that dog's 4 generation pedigree, which can include a picture also. Here's a sample, Garner's Chinaman's pedigree as displayed by the website. The website can also display offspring listings, siblings listings and a nice tool that displays the genetic contribution of each dog's ancestor in the first 4 generations. This allows you to surf thousands of pedigrees by just clicking on the names of the dogs.

As a user you can add more pedigrees to the database; tools and step by step instructions are always provided to make data entry simple and painless. You will have control over the pedigrees you enter, which means that nobody (except the administrators in exceptional cases) can change the data you enter. You can optionally make the pedigrees you enter editable by everyone or specific users, according to your criteria. This ensures that nobody will disrupt the work you have done. Note that as a user you are also resposible for what you post. If you are found to enter false pedigrees, or abuse the system, your account will be terminated.

Your username and the usernames of those who edit your pedigrees are tied to the record and will be displayed on the pedigree so other users will know which user entered the pedigree and which users have made changes to it since it was created. This is done because it discourages those who want to post false pedigrees from doing it, which in turn helps keep accurate pedigrees and information.

You will be able to contact other users in case you have questions. Communication also enables you to meet other users, create groups and join efforts in do*****enting and researching bloodlines in which you share an interest. Communication is carried through the website's own messaging system, which will allow you to send and receive messages to other users. Although your username will be widely accessible to other users, your personal information will be protected and won't be given out to anyone. We want to respect your identity and you can decide who knows who you are.

About the website: Welcome!
About the websiteWelcome to the new face of online pedigrees! I have integrated the old website into a full content management system. The layout of the website is very similar to the old site. Website navegation is clear and easy. More appealing, while remaining a simple interface that is easy on the eyes for long hours of forum and pedigree surfing. All the old goodies are still here:

Pedigrees.- The old interface and layout was pretty much preserved . I added a few new tools and features to give you more control of pedigrees like:

  • Quick Search. I added a quick search form at the top right corner throughout the website. You can now make pedigree searches from any page on the website.
  • The ability to transfer ownership of your pedigree to another user. This way you can in a simple step give control of the pedigree to another user without the need to have the webmaster make the transfer.
  • The length of the Description field was increased. You can now enter a more extensive description of the dog.
  • The Description field comes with a simple, but extremely useful editor. You can now format the text of the description field without the need to add HTML code into the form.
  • All dog names are now bold. Many people kept adding HTML code into the Registered Name field to make the name of the dog appear in bold. I made it so all dog names are displayed in bold so you don't need to add that code anymore. Adding HTML code into the Registered Name field confuses the search tools.
Message Board (renamed to Forums).- The old forum has been discarded and replaced by phpBB. A much more complete and flexible forum that is developed and debugged continuously. A great addition and tightly integrated into the website. I transferred the topics and posts of the old Message Board into the new Forum so we are not starting from scratch.

Communications Center (renamed to Private Messages).- The old Comm Center, like the old Message Board, has been discarded and replaced by the Forum's messaging system. The new messaging system is far superior and easier to use then the old rudimentary Comm Center I had developed. Easier manipulation of your Private Messages and more flexibility when composing your message. Your old inbox, saved messages and sent messages have been moved to the new system.
